The Bull 3Many business owners I come across find marketing to be overwhelming. I hear comments like:

  • “I don’t know where to begin”
  • “I just don’t have time”
  • “I hate social media”

and with that, the business owner puts off most marketing activities and then feels frustrated at the lack of client attraction and revenue they are experiencing.

marketing overwhelm

The BustMany marketing gurus leave us with the impression that social media is the ONLY form of marketing that exists. And yet, social media is just one piece of the marketing pie. So, if you’re squeamish about using Facebook, Twitter, and the rest, or can’t get a handle on Pinterest and Instagram, have no fear! There are so many other activities you can be doing that you can relax, and try to have some fun.

The fact is, overwhelm, is overwhelming, and trying to do activities you hate can make marketing appear overwhelming. So, here are a few ideas to help you take the overwhelm out of your marketing:

  1. Pick One Activity. Instead of trying to do EVERY possible marketing activity, pick one activity and focus there. Even if you only wrote blog posts or got some promotional leaflets printed from https://www.printivity.com/landing/booklets, that’s better than nothing and will get your marketing campaign started!
  2. Focus on What You Enjoy. Guess what? You, like everyone else, will be more inspired and excited to do marketing activities if you enjoyed them! So, think about types of activities you enjoy and do those.
  3. Determine Your Desired Results. If you start with the results you want from your marketing, it will greatly help you decide which marketing activities can best help you accomplish this.
